With holiday villas and apartments<\/a> all over Italy, holidaymakers booking their accommodation through Bookings For You<\/a> are likely to be flying into one of a number of airports in Italy, the most common being Pisa, Milan, Verona, Rome, Olbia, Naples and Venice. Whilst we will often recommend hiring a car for your Italy villa holiday, in some cases it might be appropriate to use public transport. To help you plan your journey we have listed below the best modes of transport from your arrival airport in Italy to the closest major city. The respective costs of each are also listed.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pisa<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

From Pisa, it\u2019s less than 3 euros by bus into the centre of the city and approximately 12 euros by taxi from the airport to the centre of Pisa. To Florence taking the taxi would be an expensive option at around 100 euros. However buses go regularly from the airport to Florence for just a few euros. You can also catch the train from Pisa into Central Florence\u2019s Santa Maria Novella station.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Milan <\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

From Milan Malpensa it\u2019s approximately 70 euros by taxi into the city centre. Again, there are cheap transfer options using public transport. The Malpensa shuttle bus is the cheapest option. Departing every 20 minutes from the airport to the centre of the city, it costs just 10 euros. Buses run from 05.30 in the morning to 01.20 the following morning. Milan Linate is closer to the city centre. A taxi from here is less than half the cost it would be from Malpensa (around 25 euros). Bus lines 73 and X73 connect the airport with San Babila metro station and a ticket will cost just 2.50 euros.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Verona<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Again, a taxi is a relatively cheap option if there are a group of you, costing around 25 euros to take you to the city centre from the airport. Again, there is a bus as well \u2013 tickets for the Aerobus are 6 euros.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Rome<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Rome airport is further out from the city centre so a taxi is a more expensive option. A journey from the aiport to the centre of the city will set you back around 60 euros. Again, the SIT bus shuttle service is quick and reliable and will save you a lot of money at just 8 euros for a journey from the airport to the Termini station in Rome.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Olbia<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The airport is close to the city and so a taxi will only cost around 15 euros. If you prefer to use public transport, buses 2 and 10 leave every 30 minutes and tickets cost just 1 euro. V<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Venice<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The ATVO airport bus will get you from the airport to Piazzale Roma in Venice in just 20 minutes and will cost 6 euros. The same journey in a taxi would be around 50 euros.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
