It\u2019s a very informal restaurant with a huge menu. It is also possible to get takeaway pizzas from here.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Ciocco Bocco<\/strong>\u00a0– For a \u2018cioccolato caldo<\/em>\u2019, extensive range of teas and coffees or glass of wine and an aperitif, head to Ciocco Bocco. They also serve great ice cream.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n PORTOVALTRAVAGLIA<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Albergo del Sole<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This is a traditional hotel with an excellent restaurant serving delicious food.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Monte Sole<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Situated on the lake road between Germignaga and Portovaltravaglia, this restaurant is also worth a visit. Renovated a couple of years ago, it has crisp white tablecloths and a vibrant, buzzy atmosphere. Again, it is very popular and can get booked up in the peak Summer months so it\u2019s worth booking ahead, particularly if you want a table on the terrace overlooking the lake. It\u2019s much more informal and relaxed and ideal for those with children. They serve great pizzas as well as pasta and meat dishes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n BRISSAGO-VALTRAVAGLIA<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Osteria d\u2019Alberto<\/strong> – Situated inland from Portovaltravaglia, this restaurant has a stylish and contemporary feel. Using the very best ingredients, we find that it gives some traditional Italian dishes a slightly European twist. Prices are higher than you\u2019ll find in many of the other restaurants in the area but it\u2019s worth a visit. In the Summer months, ask for a table on the terrace.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n COLMEGNA<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Relais Villa Porta<\/strong> \u2013 Owned by the same family as the Camin Hotel in Luino, this hotel has a superb restaurant in the most idyllic location overlooking the lake. As many of the hotel guests tend to eat in, it\u2019s worth reserving a table in advance. Incredible food which looks as incredible as it tastes!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n PALLANZA<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Ristorante Milano<\/strong>\u00a0– this is an intimate and classy restaurant that comes highly recommended! Located within the Giardino Hotel in Ascona, it’s a beautiful setting and a perfect venue to celebrate a special occasion. Diners have the option of a 4, 5 or 6 course tasting menu but prices aren’t cheap.
