In addition, guests enjoy full use of the facilities at the nearby hotel, located approximately 300 metres from the apartment. Colmegna is a lovely, pretty lakeside village with an excellent restaurant at the nearby Camin Hotel which is a short walk away as well as an additional more traditional pizzeria and trattoria. There is also a small but popular beach area in Colmegna too. It's a great base to visit the lakeside towns and villages all around the lake. Nearby Luino hosts one of the biggest weekly markets in Europe, whilst at the top of the lake in Switzerland is Ascona and Locarno. The latter boasts an amazing lido and spa. Across the lake and within easy reach using the boat network is Cannobio and Cannero. And of course, you can also use the boat network to reach towns such as Stresa at the other end of the lake.
A note from Jo
The location of the apartment on the hillside above the lake means guests get to enjoy some terrific lake views from the terrace. However, its location does mean that there are a number of steps leading to the property. This makes it unsuitable for the elderly and infirm as well as for those with particularly small children. However, if steps aren't an issue, then this apartment is great for those who enjoy self catering but want some of the luxuries of hotel accommodation on their doorstep.
