This modern 4 bedroom villa is located in the Northern part of the region, in a beautiful unspoilt place surrounded by the charming countryside and just 30 minutes from the seaside.
The villa is divided across two floors, which could serve as two apartments for families or friends spending their holiday together but looking for some privacy as well. There is only one entrance, but each floor has its own kitchen and living room. The access to the villa is through a beautiful stone porch with a table with chairs and a wood oven, the perfect place for relaxing and eating outside with your travel companions! Once inside there is a big living room furnished in a modern design with TV, comfortable sofas, a small table and a fireplace. There is also a fully equipped kitchen. On the same floor there is a big double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and mezzanine level, a single bedroom, a bathroom with a double walk-in shower and a second double bedroom. The modern pink stone stairs lead upstairs, where you will find another fully equipped kitchen and a second living room equipped with a double sofa bed. The bedroom on this floor is perfect for a family of three, since it has both a double bed and a single bed. There is also a bathroom with shower on this floor. The rooms on the ground floor enjoy direct access to one of the best features of the villa - an indoor heated pool surrounded by windows which open out onto the garden. Please note that the pool is heated upon request at the extra cost of 25 euros per day, payable locally. Next to the pool is another bathroom with shower. In the garden there are comfortable chairs positioned to make the most of the breath taking views over the countryside, perfect both during the day or in the evening, when the temperature drops and you can enjoy the Summer breeze.
As hard as it will be to drag yourself away from the house, Villa Papion is also perfect for discovering this charming area of Le Marche! It is really close to the picturesque town of Cagli on the ancient Roman Via Flaminia with its imposing Palazzo Pubblico on the main square, a well-preserved example of a medieval seat of the city's governors. Acqualagna, the capital of truffles, is also just a few kilometres away and near here, there is also the breathtaking Furlo Gorge, a must-see for all nature and trekking lovers. The beautiful town of Urbino, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Raphael's birthplace, is just 30 minutes away and will bring you back to the Renaissance period. And if you are looking for some other places where you can go for a swim, the seaside town of Fano is 30 minutes away but we also suggest you head to Le Foci, a hidden gem where you can cool off in the bathing river surrounded by the white rocks and the green woods of the mountains!
A note from Jo
This property does have a certain quirkiness to it but we really like it. We particularly love the upper floor decor. Downstairs, guests do need to be aware that a bedroom leads directly out to the swimming pool so it may not be suitable for families with young children.
