Villa settings donu2019t get more incredible than this. Positioned almost directly where the Adriatic and Ionian seas meet and perched on the cliff overlooking the sea and the rocks below, the setting seems straight from a James Bond movie. Guests will find it hard to tear themselves away from the swimming pool overlooking the waves below or from the spectacular terraces. The interior throughout is simple in style and dates from the 1980s but the location and outside living space is everything!
The property is split over different buildings. Even the kitchen is in a standalone building. This is old fashioned in style, probably dating from the 1980s, but it is tastefully furnished with white units with yellow handles and equipped with dishwasher, double sink, 6 ring gas hob, oven and with a small fridge / freezer. A yellow ceiling light and yellow painted skirting boards continue the yellow accent colour within the room. A living area is in a building opposite and is accessed via some external steps. A stone sofa has been cleverly built into the walls on three sides of the room and there are two coffee tables on which to rest your drinks. A feature window to the front makes the most of the dramatic views... it's the perfect place to sit and relax away from the heat of the sun or even on one of the rare rainy days that the Puglia region sees. Another building houses the first two bedrooms - a twin bedroom with two single beds, mirrored wardrobes and ceiling fan and a double bedroom with red metal bedstead and similar styled wardrobes. Both rooms enjoy views of the sea from small windows. Each room has its own shower room with shower, bidet, WC and sink. Both bedrooms also enjoy direct access to the terrace. Another building sits on a higher terrace. This again has two bedrooms. One of these is a double room whilst the other can be arranged as either a twin or double room. Both have blue metal bedsteads. These 2 rooms share a central bathroom with shower, WC and sink. Please note that the shower has restricted ceiling height. Another one roomed building has a large single bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers and an open style shower / wet room whilst the final building is raised even further above the main terrace. This building has it's own small living space with blue and white sofa, double bedroom with fabric headboard and wardrobe space, shower room and small kitchen area with 2 ring gas hob and sink. It also boasts a private terrace. As with the rest of the property, the rooms are positioned to ensure guests can make the most of the terrific views of the sea from the windows. The property also boasts a separate laundry room with washing machine. Outside, the gardens are arranged over a series of terraces. There is an infinity swimming pool (3.5 metre in depth). Please note that due to the position of the property on the side of the cliff, the many levels and narrow pathways and some low walls, the property is unsuitable for young children or for the elderly or infirm. Whilst there is parking at the property, guests should also be aware that the driveway is steep.
The villa is situated just outside Santa Maria di Leuca, a popular seaside town located where the Ionian and Adriatic seas meet. It's within walking distance of the lighthouse where there is a friendly cafe / bar.
A note from Jo
This is certainly a villa that seems to have stepped right out of a Bond film set. The interior is quite simple and could by no means be called luxurious, but the setting is out of this world! Perched literally on the cliffs, the views are incredible and the location quite unique. Location is everything with this property.
