The markets will give you a chance to to spend a few hours on Lake Garda shopping for food and bargains galore. The larger markets also have plenty of leather goods on offer.
For those antique lovers out there, there are also a number of excellent antique markets held regularly which are worth visiting. Every 1st Sunday of the month, there are antique markets in both the Piazzale Porta Palio in Verona as well as in Desenzano. One the 2nd Sunday of the month (excluding July and August), Brescia holds an antique markets, whllst on the 3rd Sunday Verona plays host again, this time in the Piazza San Zeno. Finally on the 4th Sunday, it’s the turn of Valeggio sul Mincio.
Shopaholics will also love a trip to Milan’s Golden Triangle, where the most famous fashion shops can be found.
Alternatively, for some cheaper Lake Garda shopping, there are some great outlet malls nearby for you to enjoy, including the Fasion District Mantova, the Franciacorta Outlet Village and the Designer Outlet in Brennero.
It’s also worth visiting Vicolungo Outlets (www.vicolungooutlets.com) (Via Papa Giovanni XXIII, 28060 Vicolungo) or at The Place Luxury Outlet (www.theplaceoutlet.com) (Strada Trossi, 13876 Sandigliano). Or, finally, a bit further afield still there is also the McArthur Glen Serravalle Designer Outlet (www.mcarthurglen.it), open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and with 180 stores (Via della Moda 1, 15069 Serravalle Scrivia). All outlet malls offer discounts of between 30% and 70%.
