This Italian Lakes villa rental is situated on the Eastern bank of Lake Maggiore, enjoying stunning views across the lake. Named Villa Sereni after the Italian poet that was born in nearby Luino, it is a large, modern, contemporary, 3 bedroom property set in a rural hamlet. This semi detached holiday home sleeps 6-8 and is set over 3 floors. A couple of peacocks live in the nearby trees and are often spotted on the terrace!
This Italian Lakes villa rental is located within a 5 minute drive of the lakeside and only 3 miles north of the bustling lakeside town of Luino with its wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Less than 5 miles from the Swiss border, the villa also provides easy access to the Swiss towns of Lugano and Locarno. Lake Como is a one hour drive and trains run direct from Luino to Milan in an hour.
You enter this Italian Lakes villa rental on the ground floor where there is a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area. This leads out onto a private terrace with stunning lake views. Up one flight of stairs, there are 2 bedrooms - one double bedroom with private balcony with lake view and one twin bedroom with views to the countryside - as well as a modern family bathroom. Up another flight of stairs there is the fantastic master bedroom with kingsize bed (160cm). This has a large ensuite bathroom with walk in shower, 'his and her' sinks and bath. There are two balconies on this floor, one with lake views and one with views to the hills.
This Italian Lakes villa rental is fully equipped with all the mod cons guests could wish for including a flatscreen TV, Blue Ray DVD player with DVD library and XBOX games console with selection of games. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine in the property.
The owners have also gone to great lengths to make this Italian Lakes villa rental family friendly, providing a travel cot, highchair and pushchair all free of charge. There is also a selection of toys, board games and children's DVDs. All in all, it is a very family friendly Italian Lakes villa rental!nnThe property shares three parking spaces with another Italian Lakes villa, Villa Caruso. Please note that the driveway down to the villa is very steep. As a result, if guests prefer, they can also park on the main road at the top of the hill. Please note also that this is a semi detached property, set over 3 floors giving it the feel of a townhouse in the countryside.
This Italian Lakes villa rental is located just outside the centre of Dumenza, a hillside village sitting above Lake Maggiore. Dumenza has a small supermarket as well as a small cafe, bar and restaurant. In the other direction at the bottom of the hill is Colmegna, a small but very pretty lakeside village.
The nearest large town is Luino. Luino is a lakeside town that has seen massive improvements over the past 10 years. The lakefront has seen considerable investment. The lakeside shop facades have been restored and the old lakeside car park has been transformed into a beautiful lawned park area, the perfect setting to enjoy an evening passeggiata. Notably, Luino businesses don't shut down in the Winter due to its thriving local population.
This is a stunning part of Italy, beautiful to enjoy all year round. There are a whole host of activities to enjoy from water sports and lake swimming in the Summer, to skiing in the Winter and with superb sightseeing opportunities on offer throughout the year. CIR code 012065-CNI-00004

Villa Sereni is such a family friendly Italian Lakes villa rental. We love what it offers families to make their stay that little bit more comfortable. From a practical perspective, there is a cot, highchair and stroller, whilst for entertainment, there are plenty of games as well as an XBOX with games. We also love its peaceful location. There are few properties in the world where you share the terrace with a couple of peacocks, or where you will fall asleep listening to the waters flowing down the stream adjacent to the villa.
We had a great week, thank you very much. The apartment was wonderful – it was great to have all the mod cons there, and that view was to die for! In case you get asked – the driveway is fully negotiable in a 9 seater transit van….!
The driveway was a bit of a challenge but we managed. There were 5 of us and we had plenty of space. The place was lovely and clean and the view from the deck was terrific. We had many pleasant evenings on the deck. We had dinner one night at the Hotel Camin and that was a real treat. We drove to Como and to Bellinzona. We did the ferry to the small islands and Locano. All very nice and the scenery was spectacular. The highlight had to be the gardens at Villa Taranto. Superb. And we enjoyed the market. I will certainly recommend the villa to any friends that might want to visit North Italy. Many thanks for everything.
