Adventure Holidays in Italy with a Difference

Adventure Holidays in Italy with a Difference

Introducing our new partnership with 10 Adventures – creating adventure holidays in Italy with a luxurious difference.

Enjoying an adventure holiday in Italy is one of the most original ways to experience Italy’s natural beauty. Whether it’s wandering the coastal paths of Puglia, ambling along the iconic Amalfi coast or breathing in the Tuscan sun on your bike, there really is something for everyone to enjoy.

Here at Bookings For You we have decided to pool our knowledge of adventure holidays in Italy with our friends at 10 Adventures. Together, we have come up with a selection of combination holidays, beginning with a 10 Adventures tour, followed by a relaxing stay in a Bookings For You villa or apartment.

Adventure Holidays in Italy: Puglia

Discovering Puglia by bike is a great adventure holiday in Italy. On this tour, you can take in Southern Italy’s stunning landscapes at your own pace and find hidden gems that you will struggle to find on four wheels. Tasting Puglia by Bike is an 8 day food tour beginning in Polignano a Mare. However, there are several stops including Gallipoli and Ostuni. Adventurers will finish their ride in Lecce. From here, we would recommend a short trip back up the coast to indulge in Puglia’s pristine beaches and turquoise waters from the luxury of Villa Clementine. With direct access to the beach and a good-sized pool too, Villa Clementine’s unique, contemporary architecture breathes light into every room. The sea views will take your breath away and you’ll soon switch into relaxation mode!

While cycling around Puglia is a wonderful way to experience an adventure holiday in Italy, there are of course some alternatives. With 15 blue flag beaches, you can feel spoiled for choice when choosing a coastal destination in Puglia. By opting for this 7 Day Snorkeling Tour, you will explore both the eastern Adriatic and western Mediterranean coats. What’s more, snorkeling in Puglia opens a kaleidoscope of underwater colours and this tour takes you through both the ‘Cave of Poetry’ and the Porto Selvaggio Reserve. Both of which are magical experiences.

After 7 days at sea, we would recommend moving inland to experience what Puglia has to offer away from the beach. Opting for a villa in the Val d’Itria gives a wonderful contrast to the time you will have spent on the coast.  Trulli Nicola is a newly constructed villa, furnished in a modern contemporary style and within walking distance of the outskirts of Ostuni. While the exterior appears traditional in design, everything is brand new. Thereby combining the best of both worlds!

Adventure Holidays in Italy: Tuscany

Does Tuscany need an introduction? World-famous vineyards, exquisite hilltop towns and beaches too. In short, Tuscany is the perfect choice for an adventure holiday in Italy and ideal for some relaxation time too. This 8-day Family-Friendly Cycling Tour is a wonderful way to visit some of Tuscany’s most picturesque hilltop towns. What’s more, you will enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful countryside that weaves them so seamlessly together.

Without a doubt, tired legs can look forward to relaxing at Villa Mona. Here, there is space for all the family, or even two families travelling together. Outside, you’ll find a private swimming pool, open from April to October and surrounded by olive groves and cypress trees. The extensive gardens are south-facing making the most of the wonderful sunshine that this region enjoys. To top it off, there is plenty to keep the whole family entertained with satellite TV, table tennis, billiards and table football.

Walking the Chianti Hills is perhaps one of the most sophisticated options when considering an adventure holiday in Italy. Beginning in Florence, this 8-Day Walking Tour hits all the highlights of the region, including Firesole and Monte San Michelle. Finishing in Siena, we would suggest making the short journey to Villa Colombaio. Here, guests can relax in ultimate luxury, enjoying uninterrupted views and long lazy afternoons around the private swimming pool. Smaller groups may prefer to head back to Florence to an apartment or head to the coast to see a different side of Tuscany.

Villa Benedetta is a four-bedroom villa situated within walking distance of the charming Tuscan fishing village of Porto Ecole. What’s more, it enjoys terrific views of the Renaissance fortress of Porto Ercole. So Villa Benedetta combines the best of both worlds – peace and quiet while being within walking distance of amenities. Perfection!

Adventure Holidays in Italy: Umbria

Adventure Holidays in Italy

Italy’s green heart is perfectly positioned for an adventure holiday. In short, Umbria is a patchwork of picturesque towns and magnificent hills and mountains all waiting to be explored. Highlights are course Spello, Assisi and walking the St Francis way. By choosing a 10 Adventures and Bookings For You combination holiday, you can enjoy it all. Beginning with either of these walking tours, Spoleto to Rieti or Assisi Trek, hikers are then perfectly placed to enjoy some rest in one of our Spello villas or apartments. Spello is such a gem that not only do we have an excellent selection of villas and apartments to choose from but we also find it difficult to choose between them!

A highlight for couples or smaller groups is The Courtyard Apartment. This luxury Umbria holiday rental is situated in the oldest part of Spello within walking distance of some superb restaurants, cafes and wine bars. Spello is a magical town. The locals are incredibly friendly and there are some wonderful family-run food stores and boutiques. Guests can also hire electric bikes, which is a great way to explore the surrounding countryside.

Larger groups, or families travelling together, could enjoy some downtime in either Villa Buonanotte Barbanera or Villa Giardino. Both comfortably sleep six guests and are within easy reach of Spello’s world-famous flower-filled alleys. Adventure holidays in Italy don’t get much better than this!

Adventure Holidays in Italy: The Italian Lakes

The Italian Lakes could be considered the birthplace of adventure holidays in Italy. Crystalline lakes, snow-capped summits and miles of hiking trails will keep even the most well-travelled adventurers busy. At Bookings For You we make no secret of our love for the Italian Lakes and we’re thrilled to find partners at 10 Adventures that love the lakes just as much as we do!

Adventure Holidays in Italy

Beginning in Meran, this 3 day hike takes adventurers south through the Dolomites. A highlight is the stop at Molveno. Tucked below the iconic rugged peaks of Il Dolomiti the turquoise Lago Molveno is exquisitely tranquil. This tour ends on the northern shores of Lake Garda from which guests can jump on a ferry to enjoy a week in the stunning Villa Selve. This 3 bedroom Italian Lakes villa is perched in a peaceful location above the quaint village of Gaino. Villa Selve is the perfect place to recharge. It boasts a wellness area with a large whirlpool tub, a Finnish sauna, and a relaxation area.

Another option is Villa Storica. Without a doubt, this is the place to come to reward yourself for all that hiking! Our guests can relax in the heated jacuzzi or the private swimming-pool. The outside space enjoys spectacular lake views. A table under the shade of a large parasol provides the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Additionally, a BBQ is available for those who enjoy al fresco dining.
