Five villas where you can holiday like a movie star

Five villas where you can holiday like a movie star

When we recently shared photos of the fabulous Villa Royale with our Facebook, we were absolutely inundated with messages about staying at the place where Casino Royale was filmed; it transpires that loads of our lovely guests fancy living like movie stars during their holiday (and who can blame them?!).

So, we thought we should curate a selection of our finest villas elsewhere in Italy – where you can kick-back, relax with a martini (shaken, not stirred), and watch the world pass you by.

Villa Dei Falco

If someone asked you to draw a large country farmhouse, you’d draw Villa Dei Falco. Add to that the huge grounds and azure blue swimming pool, and you’ve got a pad fit for a movie star. It’s got six bedrooms, so you’d get a good number of your entourage in. You can also impress them with the games and movie room with a huge collection of films – possibly even one of yours?

La Residenza

Palatial. It’s probably the only word that springs to mind when you arrive at the magnificent La Residenza. You’ll fit even more of your entourage here, with its 8 bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms. It’s split over two buildings, with one bedroom in a lovely little trullo, separate from the main building. Ultimate privacy for you as a movie star. It’s a big property and there are lots of walkways, corridors and stairs within. Perfect for the occasional photoshoot or two.

Villa Le Capanne

Villa Le Capanne is even larger still, with a very impressive 9 bedrooms sleeping 20 people. It’s no surprise that this is a popular wedding villa – there’s loads of space for your movie star friends and the quintessentially Italian farmhouse makes for the perfect Instagram shots. The piece de la resistance of Villa Le Capanne, though, is its private spa on the ground floor, with a jacuzzi, salt room and massage area all for your personal use. Just make sure you bring your masseuse.

Villa Lily

This is a smaller villa, where a fledgling movie star would bring only their nearest and dearest (no hangers-on, please). It’s an eco friendly villa with a photovoltaic system powering a modern heating system below the floor, providing all the electricity supply that the property requires. There is also a water purifier in the kitchen, ensuring that guests don’t need to buy bottled water and rainwater is collected which is then used to water the garden.

Villa Royale

The villa that started this whole piece off. The closing scenes in Casino Royale, the Bond movie, were partly filmed here. If that’s not a claim to fame, what is?! Even without this rather notable past life, the Villa Royale is fit for a king and even looks like a castle. It’s got some of the best views of Lake Como. You might even see George Clooney around, since he has a villa nearby. And if it’s good enough for him…
