Villa Orvieto is a stunning 2 bedroom villa in Orvieto, situated in the very heart of the town. It has successfully combined all the benefits of hotel living with those of a self catering villa. The decor is sumptuous and elegant, whilst the service is second to none.
Villa Orvieto occupies part of a historic palazzo whose history spans 3000 years. It really does offer the best of both worlds. Guests are in the heart of Orvieto where everything is within easy reach on foot. But it also boasts the most wonderful gardens. These provide a haven of peace and tranquility to return to after a day spent sightseeing. Outdoor furniture is provided allowing guests to dine al fresco or simply relax with a glass of wine. There is also an additional roof terrace which we can highly recommend for a sunset aperitivo!nnWhen you arrive, you will be welcomed in the historic salon of the palazzo, a beautiful space exquisitely furnished and decorated. An elevator will take you from here to the entrance of your villa.
Upon entering Villa Orvieto itself, you will discover a stunning open plan living and dining area. Furnished with comfortable corner sofa and dining table seating six, it's an elegant and relaxing space. A private balcony leads from this room which enjoys views over the rooftops of Orvieto to the hills beyond.
The kitchen sits at range angles to this space. It is well equipped with an oven, induction hob and fridge. There is also both an American and Italian coffee machine.
There are two bedrooms in Villa Orvieto. The first has a kingsize bed whilst the second is furnished with a queen sized bed. Both have ensuite bathrooms. The bed linen is of the highest quality. Egyptian cotton sheets have been hand sewn and embroidered locally in Orvieto. Curtains and cushions have been made using silk and linen fabrics not from Italy but also imported from England and France.
The interior style of Villa Orvieto is probably best described as opulent and comfortable. It has been furnished using a clever mix of modern and traditional decor.
Guests enjoy two private terraces connected to the villa. However, you are also welcome to make use of the communal terraces and gardens too. A striking spiral staircase within the villa leads to the communal roof terrace on the floor above with its breathtaking views.
Guests also enjoy use of a fully equipped gym, outdoor jacuzzi and sauna. A concierge service is also provided free of charge.
The owners have designed the space to ensure that guests could want for nothing. To ensure your stay is practical as well as luxurious, a washing machine and dryer has been provided in your villa. However, should you prefer someone else to do the washing, we can provide a laundry service too. Please note that a daily housekeeping service is also provided free of charge during your stay.
Villa Orvieto is situated in the very heart of the historic centre of Orvieto, just a 4 minute walk from the Duomo. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, cafes, bars and historical sites within easy reach on foot.
A note from Jo
The owners have gone out of their way to ensure that every guests stay is as luxurious and enjoyable as possible. Villa Orvieto genuinely does provide the best of both worlds - all the privacy and comfort of a self catering villa in Umbria but with all the luxuries of a hotel stay. For example, there is a daily complimentary breakfast service along with a daily turn down service too. And all guests will be treated to a free bottle of wine on arrival too. Not only that but guests will also receive a complimentary copy of 'Piera', a novel written by the mother of the owner that describes her survival and love story during World War II in both Italy and Greece. Should guests wish, the owners would also be delighted to organise an accompanied walking tour either along all or part of the 5 kilometre long Anello della Rupe path, or within Orvieto itself. For those staying for a week or more, you will also be welcome to enjoy a complimentary dinner in the villa too.
