The apartment was completely restored in 2011 by the current owners who clearly have an eye for both detail and comfort while ensuring a strong relationship with their past. The apartment entrance is on the first floor and is accessed by external stone stairs.
Inside, the accommodation is arranged over two floors, offering plenty of space to relax and unwind. It's the perfect space for either two couples or for a small family looking to explore the beautiful Abruzzese countryside together.
On the first floor, there is a bright, open-plan living, kitchenette and dining area. The kitchenette is equipped with 4 ring gas hob, fridge, moka coffee maker and plenty of cookware, glassware and utensils. There is a comfortable sofa and a wooden table seating four. On this floor, you'll also find the first of the two spacious bedrooms and a separate bathroom. Stairs lead to the second floor where you will find the second bedroom. This is a beautiful room with a traditional exposed wooden beamed ceiling. There is also a second bathroom on this floor. Both bedrooms are furnished with kingsize beds.
Outside, by the entrance to the apartment, is a terrace. This is the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast whilst you plan your day ahead. However, for us, the real highlight of this property are the breathtaking panoramic views that await you from the second floor covered terrace. From here, the valley stretches out in front of you. As the sun fades each day, you can sit gazing at the lights of several medieval villages twinkling in the distance.
There is also a communal terrace outside with a shade sail and tables and chairs. Next to the terrace is a BBQ area with a charcoal BBQ which guests are welcome to use. Finally, there is off road parking. Each apartment is allocated one space.
It is a 15 minute drive to the nearest town of Castiglione Messer Raimondo (10km) where guests will find several restaurants. For groceries, there is a small supermarket in either Cesi or Piani, both of which are approximately 10 minutes (6 km) by car. The nearest beach at Pineto is approximately 35 km away and can be reached in under an hour whilst the Campo Imperatore - Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park is 60 minutes drive from the apartment.
This apartment really is the perfect base for exploring the Abruzzo region - from the mountains to the sea and from its medieval villages to its national parks. Due to the rural location in the heart of the Abruzzo countryside, a car is essential for your stay. Should you need any assistance during your stay, the owners live next to the apartments and are always happy to discuss the local area and help guests with recommendations, reservations and trip planning. Of course, should you not need any help, they will ensure your privacy at all times.
