The villa took 10 years to build from start to finish, but the result is a masterpiece of sustainable architecture surrounded by nature. Inside, the accommodation measures 300 square metres and is arranged over two levels.
On the ground floor, there is a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen is fully equipped with a wine cooler, fridge and freezer, induction hob and oven. An island unit sits in the centre of the room with bar stools arranged on one side, creating a convivial space for the preparation of meals. A square dining table and chairs sits to one side of the room whilst a sofa sits on the other side. There is also a TV for lazy evenings in. Floor to ceiling panoramic glass doors lead from this room to the poolside terrace and bring in plenty of light.
There are also 2 bedrooms on this floor. The first is furnished with a double bed. It has a walk-in wardrobe with plenty of shelving and hanging space for clothes. Doors lead directly from here to the terrace. The second bedroom also has a double bed and plenty of storage space and, again, has doors leading directly to the garden. It has a large bathroom. Both rooms have their own ensuite bathrooms.
The third bedroom is upstairs. This has a double bedroom and plenty of storage space. It has an ensuite bathroom with a roll-top bathtub with shower attachment.
On the lower floor, there is a spa and wellness centre equipped with a Turkish bath and sauna. There is also an additional shower room and a laundry room on this level.
The decor throughout is minimal, elegant and contemporary in shades of grey and white. It is a calming, relaxing space.
Outside, the garden measures approximately 8000 square metres. A large swimming pool (16 x 5 metres and with a depth of 0.8 to 1.8 metres) is set surrounded by an area paved in wood where sun loungers are arranged for your relaxation and comfort. The pool is open all year round. A semi covered terrace is the perfect setting to sit and admire the view. A terrace and an external loggia add character to this estate's appeal, specially if you are a lover of yoga. It's the ideal place to enjoy meals al fresco or to relax while reading a good book. There is also a plantar reflexology path.
Please note that rates exclude the costs of the spa and heating (when required) which is 500 euros per week.
The nearest shops and restaurants are in the wonderful city of Cortona which is 9 km from the property. It is a great base to explore not just Tuscany but also Umbria. Montepulciano is 28 km away, Perugia 43 km, Arezzo 60 km and Florence 114 km. For those looking to enjoy water sports or days on the beach, you can do so at nearby Lake Trasimeno. And golf lovers can enjoy a round at Antognolla Golf.
