The Space

Six steps lead to the entrance of Villa Castanar. Doors open into a large entrance hall. This is a grand area that immediately provides guests with a sense of the grandeur of this villa and the space it offers. To the right is a living area. Sofas and chairs are arranged around a coffee table to one side of the room, near a wall-mounted TV and corner fireplace. To the other side of the room is a grand piano that guests are welcome to use. To the left of the entrance hall is a dining room with antique dining table, perfect for formal dinners. Also on this floor is a modern, well equipped kitchen. Doors from here lead both to the adjacent dining room as well as to the garden. Finally, there is a large bathroom with shower on this floor.

An impressive staircase leads to the first floor of Villa Castanar. Here you will find two double bedrooms. The first has a private balcony wrapping around two sides of the room. Guests can sit here and enjoy views over the roof tops to the nearby lake. It is furnished with a comfortable double bed and antique wardrobe. The beautifully painted ceiling adds further character to the room. The bathroom for this bedroom sits on the opposite side of the hallway. The bathroom is large and modern and has a shower, sink and WC.

The second bedroom on this floor also has a balcony with views over the quiet streets of Maccagno. It boasts an ensuite shower room. Again, the ceilings are beautifully painted creating a charming space in which to sleep. A small room at the end of the hallway has an antique sewing machine, all adding to the character and beauty of Villa Castanar.

Another set of stairs leads to the top floor of the villa. Here there is an independent apartment with kitchenette, living area, bedroom and bathroom, all set under the eaves of the roof. Dual aspect balconies provide stunning views of the lake to one side and the mountains to the rear. The bathroom is an enormous space with large shower, free standing bath tub and his and her sinks. The space feels extremely luxurious.

Original tiled floors throughout, along with beautiful etched glass doors, stained glass windows, artwork-lined walls and stylish antique furnishings create a unique space. However, please note that these features means that the villa is unsuitable for families with young children. Pets are also not allowed at the property.

Outside, a large terrace surrounds the villa, furnished with table and chairs. A wisteria-covered pergola has an outdoor table, perfect for al fresco dining. There is a BBQ. There is plenty of parking for up to 4 cars.
