Guests enter Villa Varese through a large antique wooden door, making you immediately aware of the incredible history of this beautiful Italian Lakes villa.
Inside, the large living area has comfortable seating. Bookshelves line the walls and there is a beautiful Steinway grand piano. The incredible fireplace provides a focal point in the Summer months but ensures a wonderfully cosy atmosphere in the Winter. It also boasts a beautiful Steinway grand piano. A second living space is furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs and also has a large working fireplace to add character. The dining area is rather grand, with frescoed walls and ceilings and provides an elegant setting to dine together.
There is a well equipped kitchen. Traditional copper pans hang on the walls, their colour contrasting with the white walls and the deep blue kitchen units. A wooden table provides extra space on which to prepare food as well as ensuring that this is very sociable space in which to cook.
There are six bedrooms in Villa Varese. The master bedroom suite is incredibly grand with frescoed ceilings and walls. It is furnished with a large double bed and has a sitting area too. The large bathroom has a separate shower and bath tub. It also enjoys views over the nearby Lake Varese and the mountains beyond. There are three more double bedrooms. A fifth bedroom can be laid out either with a large double bed or two single beds. The final bedroom is perfect for children with three single beds.
Outside, there is a charming al fresco dining area set in a beautiful courtyard. A covered terrace sits beneath graceful stones columns. Here guests will find a large dining table perfect for long meals with family and friends.
Please note that car parking is not available on site but there is parking just a short walk away.
Villa Varese is situated in the small town of Azzate. This has a few restaurants for guests to choose from as well as a small cinema.
It is just a 30 minute drive from Milan Malpensa airport and just an hour from Milan. It's a great location from which to explore not just Lake Varese but also nearby Lake Maggiore. 40 minutes by car will take you to the bustling lakeside town of Stresa where you can easily hop on a boat to discover the Borromean Islands that lie just off shore. The UNESCO World Heritage site - Sacro Monte - sits 20 minutes away in the other direction.
