Inside, the accommodation in Villa Merlo is arranged over three floors. The decor throughout is elegant and refined.
On the ground floor, there are two spacious living areas. In the first, sofas and chairs are arranged around a fireplace and TV. In the second, as well as more relaxed seating, there is also an antique dining table seating 14. Doors from both rooms lead on to the main terrace.
Also on this floor is the kitchen. This is fully equipped with two dishwashers, an oven, hob, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, microwave, wood burning stove and fridge. There is also a TV in this room as well as a small dining table seating 6. Doors lead directly from the kitchen to the rear garden. Next to the kitchen is a separate laundry room, equipped with both washing machine and dryer.
There are also two bedrooms on the ground floor. Both have double beds and both have ensuite shower rooms. There is also a separate WC on this floor.
From the living room, a few steps lead up to a loft space. Here guests will find a beautiful and spacious one-bedroom apartment featuring a bathroom with shower and a sitting room with dining table and sofas.
The remaining bedrooms are on the first floor of Villa Merlo. Here there is a family room furnished with a double bed as well as a single sofa bed. Two further double bedrooms both have balconies and there is another bedroom furnished with two single beds. There are three bathrooms on this floor, two with showers and one with a bath tub. The villa can therefore sleep up to 12 guests in total in 6 bedrooms.
Also on the first floor of Villa Merlo is another living room. Finally, there is a gym for guests to use. This has a treadmill and other exercise equipment. Large windows bring in plenty of light and allow guests to enjoy the panoramic views over the valley. For those who prefer a slower pace on holiday, there is also relaxed seating in this room and a TV.
A covered terrace extends along the entire length of Villa Merlo, providing the perfect space to sit and relax and enjoy the great outdoors. It is furnished with comfortable sofa style seating as well as a dining table seating up to 14. There is a BBQ for those who enjoy cooking al fresco. The hot tub is positioned next to this terrace, perfect for a late night soak! To the rear of the house, there is another dining table seating 8 as well as a wood-burning oven, ideal for pizza making.
The gardens at Villa Merlo are extensive. Measuring approximately 1000 square metres, the gardens are well established with large oak trees, plenty of lawns and mature shrubs. Guests are also welcome to help themselves to any fresh produce from the vegetable garden here. The private swimming pool measuring 9 x 5 metres sits in the heart of the garden. It is surrounded by deck chairs, sun loungers and parasols. There is also an outdoor shower here. It is open between May and September each year.
There is parking for up to 4 vehicles.
Included in the price is electricity up to 40 KW per week. Any use over and above this is payable locally at a rate of 1 euro per KW on departure based on consumption. Gas and heating costs are also payable on departure based on usage.
Violla Merlo is situated half way between Siena and Monteriggioni. Both are reachable in just 1- to 15 minutes by car. It's also ideally placed to explore the Chianti region more generally and its villages such as Greve, Gaiole and Radda. San Gimignano is just 33 km away and easy to reach, as is Certaldo (35 km) and Volterra (44 km). The city of Florence is just 70 km away and is a recommended day trip during your stay here.
