Casa Elizabeth is a Porciano house set in the heart of the cobbled village streets of this ancient borgo, below the towering castle above. This 2 bedroom cottage is the perfect setting for an authentic stay in Tuscany. Rooms have been tastefully furnished in a traditional Tuscan style. Being able to walk to the nearby town and its amenities is a real bonus. Not only that though. Guests can also walk to the river where they can sunbathe on the riverbanks and cool off in the water.
Inside, this Porciano house, the accommodation is laid out over two floors. There is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. This is equipped with a large wooden dining table and relaxed armchairs. A separate living area has a sofa arranged around a large feature fireplace. There are 2 bedrooms and the property can sleep 4 people comfortably. There is also a bathroom with shower.
The decor of each room has been carefully thought out. It is traditional and yet refined. With plenty of natural light, the owners have used a predominance of neutral colours, incorporating colour through paintings by Carlo Lanini that adorn the walls or through the soft furnishings.
Outside, the is a large private terrace at this Porciano house where guests can enjoy meals outside on warm, sunny days.
This Porciano house is located just a 5 minute drive from the charming town of Stia. Alternatively, guests can walk to Stia in approximately 20 minutes. Here you should find everything that you could possibly need. There are a number of restaurants, cafes and bars. The owners of this Porciano house also own a restaurant which is open for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday and for lunch on Sunday.
There is so much to see and do in the Casentino Valley where this Porciano house is situated. Some of our favourite sites include the castles of Poppi and Romena, the church of Pieve di Romena, the Camaldoli Monastery and La Verna Sanctuary. If you enjoy hiking, there are some wonderful walks in the area. And for sports lovers, there are also some fantastic bike rides both in the forest and along the Arno River.
The location of this cottage in Tuscany is also ideal if you want to explore the wider Tuscany and Umbria regions. Florence, Siena, Arezzo and Assisi are all easy day trips to enjoy. We would also recommend you take time to explore the villages of Anghiari and Bibbiena that are both nearby.
