Villa Clara is a beautiful villa tucked away in the upper part of the medieval town of Spello in Umbria. Within walking distance of the town's wonderful independent shops and restaurants, the property is beautifully furnished to a high standard. Inside, it offers three beautiful bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. Outside, there is a private plunge pool and enchanting garden.

A beautifully restored former mill, the accommodation in Villa Clara is all arranged on one level. In total, the interior space measures 200 square metres and it can accommodate up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms.

The heart of the home is definitely the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. Floor to ceiling windows bring in plenty of light, blurring the line between indoor and outdoor living. They also make the most of the captivating views of the bell tower of the Monastery of Santa Chiara. The kitchen is fully equipped and is a great space for home cooking or in which to enjoy a private chef experience. High-quality appliances, a complete selection of cookware and a wine fridge all serves to elevate relaxed evenings at home. The living room has large, comfortable sofas whilst the dining area has a large table. The first two bedrooms are both furnished with kingsize beds. The third bedroom has a comfortable double sofa bed. Two of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms whilst the third bedroom has a separate bathroom. All are equipped with showers. The layout works well for families or for families travelling together.

The decor is contemporary, warm and stylish. Natural materials are frequently paired with handcrafted elements and modern Italian design creating a unique space that feels both sophisticated and grounded. For those staying in the Winter months, the property is fitted with underfloor heating whilst in the Summer months there is air conditioning.

Villa Clara is enclosed by old stone walls. Olive trees and rosemary blend harmoniously with a small heated private plunge pool with hydromassage jets (2m x 2m). It's perfect for a soak morning, noon and night! Adjacent to it sits a charming terrace shaded by an ancient lime tree. It's an idyllic spot for al fresco dining or to enjoy each others company over a board game. Just across from the garden is the historic Monastery of Santa Chiara. At noon, you will be lucky enough to enjoy the echo of Gregorian chants, a daily ritual that can't fail but touch the soul.

Please note that, since this is a traffic free zone, the location is super quiet and peaceful. The property can be reached by car though and there is a parking space within the garden that guests are welcome to use. There is also an EV charger for those travelling in an electric vehicle.

Villa Clara is situated in the heart of Spello. In just 3 minutes on foot along Spello's cobbled streets, you will find yourself in the main square of the town. Spello is genuinely a hidden gem in Umbria. It is filled with charming restaurants, artisan shops and some of the most wonderful views anywhere in Umbria. Hire electric bikes in town and cycle between vineyards and olive groves to the nearby city of Assisi. Or take one of the scenic walking trails that lead from Villa Clara into the surrounding countryside. The renowned Roman Aqueduct Path, for example, leads to the enchanting hamlet of Collepino.

Assisi is just 8 km away and Spello is also close to some of Umbria's most beautiful villages including Bevagna, Montefalco and Trevi. The nearby town of Foligno offers guests a range of essential services and boutiques. The villa is also within easy reach of Pale, famous for its historic paper mills and waterfalls, as well as the major Umbrian destinations such as Perugia, Spoleto, Todi and Orvieto.
