Polignano a Mare is a seaside Puglia town perched on limestone cliffs just over 30 km south of the regional capital Bari. Like so many of Puglia’s towns and villages, Polignano a Mare has a rich and varied history. Its centro storico is characterised by white-washed buildings so typical in this part of Italy. Start your visit in the main square – the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II – and then wander through the streets to Puglia’s coastline and overlook the crystal clear turquoise seas below. Here you will find evidence of the towns most famous former resident. This was Domenico Modugno. Whilst you may not initially recognise the name, we’re pretty sure you’ll recognise his most famous song – Nel blu dipinto di blu – more affectionately known as Volare.
All these villas in Polignano a Mare are situated within a 20 km radius of the town.
