Best villas in Italy for wheelchair users

Italy is not always the first destination that springs to mind when you’re looking for a wheelchair accessible holiday in Italy. The things that make Italy such a wonderful holiday destination – stunning hilltop towns, charming cobbled streets and historic buildings – don’t always make it easy for those with limited mobility. But don’t let this put you off.

Many of Italy’s museums offer discounts for those with disabilities, town centres are frequently pedestrianised, separate entrances are often provided at churches and museums to allow those in wheelchairs to avoid the steps and public transport tends to be very good for those with disabilities.

Here at Bookings For You, we aim to ensure that having limited mobility does not mean you have limited holiday accommodation options. We aim to provide fantastic villas and apartments to rent for all group sizes, tastes and budgets, with something suitable for everyone’s needs including those in wheelchairs.

Many of our owners have gone out of their way to adapt their properties, whilst others have been purpose built to meet the needs of wheelchair users. At the same time, we recognise that the needs of wheelchair users and those with disabilities can vary widely. Some of our wheelchair accessible properties have fully adapted bathrooms whilst others may simply have wide doorways and accessible ground floor bedrooms. With others, we may even be able to hire in additional equipment which is not included as standard. As a result, we recommend that you check with us before booking one of our villas in order to ensure that they meet your needs. We’d be happy to help find the perfect wheelchair accessible villa in Italy for you.

In the meantime, enjoy a look at the top 10 wheelchair accessible villas and apartments in Italy.
