We may be slightly biased – but we think we have some of the finest villas in Italy (it’s one of the reasons we’ve created our truly magnificent luxury collection – for those of you looking for an extra special holiday retreat). So, we’ve picked out some of our finest, most beautiful villas in the Italian Lakes:

Apartment Toretta II

This one bedroom apartment has fabulous views over Lake Maggiore, with a picture-perfect terrace for morning coffees. Completely renovated last year, it has a contemporary feel – but still homely.

Good to know: The village of Colmegna is within a 20 minute lakeside walk – there’s a small beach and fantastic restaurants.

Sopra Il Lago V

This one bedroom apartment has sublime lake views over Lake Maggiore, and there’s an extremely large terrace for guests to dine al fresco. The apartment is sleek and minimalistic, with a striking feature wall in the lounge.

Good to know: The village – Brezzo di Bedero – has a fantastic pizzeria, which is a must-visit (and loved by locals – always a good sign!).

Villa Selve

Overlooking Lake Garda, this three bedroom villa is classically decorated and has plenty of space for guests staying there. Outside, you’ll find an infinity pool and whirlpool tub, and olive groves.

Good to know: This villa also has a spa area – you’ll find a whirlpool tub, Finnish sauna, shower and relaxation area.

Golfo Gabella – C301

This four-bed penthouse apartment is located right on the shores of Lake Maggiore, and is furnished to an incredibly high standard. There are fantastic 360 views over the lake and beyond, and guests can enjoy the communal pool and jacuzzi.

Good to know: Within walking distance of lakeside beaches and the town of Maccagno, there’s plenty for guest to enjoy whilst staying here (and staying local).

Villa Castellaccio

The luxury villa is set on a hill overlook Lake Maggiore, and is truly spectacular. Traditionally decorated, it’s a real home away from home – and has extensive gardens complete with pool, terrace and BBQ.

Good to know: The local village is Brezzo di Bedero  and has a lovely pizzeria – as well as a play park for kids.

This incredibly three bedroom villa has phenomenal views over Lake Maggiore. It has a striking, contemporary design – used as a second home – with a number of statement pieces for that ‘wow’ factor. Outside there’s a beautifully-kept garden, with private pool and terrace.

Good to know: The villa is an ideal base to explore the Borromean Islands, and Lake Orta. The nearby villages of Suna, Pallanza and Stresa are also well-worth exploring.
