Lake Maggiore spas offer holidaymakers a relaxing day out. There are a number of facilities on Lake Maggiore offering relaxing spa treatments. Many of the hotels around Lake Maggiore offer the option of booking in for a days spa break, even if you’re not staying there. However, there are also a handful of dedicated Lake Maggiore spas well worth visiting.
Opened in 2013, there is a fantastic spa situated within the lido at Locarno. Offering the height of luxury and pampering in a fantastic lakeside setting, it is the largest and most modern spa on the lake. For more information on prices and to book treatments, please take a look at their website.
Alternatively, further back from the lake, through the mountains that border the Western side of Lake Maggiore is the spa at Premia. This draws people in who wish to experience the natural hot springs of Premia. Opened in 2008, the centre offers both outdoor and indoor pools. It also offers different types of saunas and steam baths. Finally there is also a modern wellness centre offering a range of different massages and beauty treatments.
Also to the West of the lake, again through the mountains towards Domodossola are the the thermal baths at Bognanco. The healing properties of these baths were discovered approximately 150 years ago. Here, water flows out from three springs: the Ausonia spring, the S. Lorenzo spring and the Gaudenziana spring. Nowadays the spa offers a range of treatments. Included in their treatment list are therapies such as inhalation therapy, hydropic therapy and carbonic baths. In addition, they offer healing and beauty massages, physiotherapy treatments and saunas.
