Truffle Hunting
The Marche region is extraordinarily rich with truffles. Visitors can collect all the species that are permitted by law, in particular, the most valuable truffle – the Tuber magnatum Pico (white truffle) and the Tuber melanosporum (black truffle).
Bookings For You are proud to be able to offer our clients the chance to experience a fantastic day truffle hunting with experts and their dogs in local woodland followed by a delicious dinner where a mouth watering menu will be prepared for you based around the truffles you have collected. You will be able to sample the best of the local wines during your meal and enjoy each others company. The day will really allow you to experience at first hand the unique relationship that the Italians have with food. You will have a unique opportunity to understand the traditional ways of Le Marche life, unchanged for centuries and unaffected by mechanisation despite the demands of the global marketplace. Your guides are absolutely wonderful and their passion for the countryside and rural life is a pleasure to see. It’s an experience not to be missed.
If you want to extend your truffle hunting experience, then extended weekend truffle hunting breaks can be arranged. We can organise Marche accommodation for your stay and give you the chance to hunt for truffles with our local experts. We have also selected the best artisans of the area to visit during your weekend so that you can get know the magical atmosphere of the Sibillini Mountains. In addition, guests will enjoy a wine tasting and cookery course, where you will be shown how to make pasta with truffle sauce. This is followed by a full dinner where you can try the pasta you have prepared. An additional meat dish will also be served for you to enjoy.
Prices for the truffle hunting weekend vary dependent on the Marche villas or Marche apartments chosen. The cost for the truffle hunting day range between 80 and 100 euros
January & March: Black Truffle hunting 80 euros
September & January White Truffle hunting 100 euros
April & September Black Truffle Melanospurum 80 euros
Prices are per person. You must have a minimum of 3 participants to book the experience. Costs include a truffle hunting experience with dogs, wine tasting in a Medieval village, lunch including the freshly made pasta with truffles and a meat course. Regional wines are also included.
Quad Biking
For a truely amazing experience during your Marche holiday, why not try one our quad bike excursions through the Marche hillsides. Led by an experienced guide whose knowledge of the area is second to none, you’ll get the chance to put your bike to the test, travelling through woodland, open countryside and rivers. You’ll soon get the hang of it if you’ve never ridden before. The scenery throughout your 3 hour trip is simply stunning with trails winding through areas of outstanding beauty and cultural significance.
Each quad bike can carry a driver plus a pillion passenger. Each quad costs 100 euros. This includes half day quad bike hire, a guide and insurance. After the excursion you will also be taken for a tasting of local specialities. A minimum of 2 quads must be booked.
Wine Tasting Tours
For the wine lovers out there, why not spend a day touring round the heart of the Rosso Piceno, tasting its wines and finding out more about the history and evolution of this incredible area of Italy. You will learn how the ‘Passerina’ wine is made, how you can tell the difference between the different varieties of grapes and much, much more. You’ll also visit a local vineyard and winery, where you will have a guided tour of the wine cellars and learn about the different specialities that are produced there. Typically the tasting will include at least a Rosso Piceno Superiore, a Pecorino and a Passerina. Lunch will be at a traditional osteria.

As with most of the properties we manage, we can always arrange a special dinner for you in the comfort of your holiday villa. One of our recommended chefs can come to your holiday property to prepare a meal for you and your family and friends.
