Villa Maura is set straight across from the beautiful Sicilian beach and sea with views of the idyllic Egadi islands, just a few metres down the road from an ancient 16th century watchtower.
The secure, gated estate sleeps up to 14 people in total in 5 bedrooms set across 3 different properties. The main villa is painted blue and has 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (both with showers), a beautiful kitchen which cleverly combines antique elements with modern, minimalist design and a spacious living room. Just a few metres behind this villa is a smaller dependence with double bedroom, a shower room, open plan kitchen and living room. There is a sofa bed in this room allowing the dependence to sleep up to 4 guests. Finally, there is a smaller dependence which also has a double bedroom, shower room and living room with kitchenette facilities. Again, there is a sofa bed allowing to sleep up to 4 guests. The owners have cleverly incorporated the original oak wine barrels in the design of the room, a nod to the heritage of the nearby wine-growing areas of Marsala and Trapani. Outside, the property is set in grounds of approximately 2.5 acres. At the rear of the garden, there is a large private saltwater swimming pool (19 metres x 9 metres) complete with jacuzzi area and surrounded by decking furnished with loungers and chairs. A adjacent glass fronted barn has been converted into a stylish gym. This is well equipped with a number of fitness machines as well as a massage bed. A bathroom provides chromotherapy shower facilities and, when you have worked up a sweat, there is an adjacent comfortable porch where you can cool down and relax in the shade with a good book! At the front of the villa, positioned to make the most of the incredible sunsets is a rooftop terrace complete with jacuzzi.
This Sicilian villa is literally a stone's throw away from the beach and sea. Open the gate, walk a few steps and you can be diving into the clear waters of the Sicilian sea. If you prefer a sandy beach to the more rocky beach in front of the house, then head left out of the property and in a few hundred metres you will start to come to the white sandy beaches of Marausa. This popular beach stretches for about 3 kilometres and is characterised by white sand and shallow, crystal clear water. There is a beach bar just 900 metres from the property whilst other bars and restaurants are just a bit further on. It's a great option if you wish to explore the picturesque Egadi islands which are about half an hour by hydrofoil, or if you wish to discover more about Sicily's vineyards and wineries, salt pans and windmills. Erice (among the most beautiful villages in Italy) and Segesta are also within easy reach.
