Alberobello is possibly Puglia’s most photographed town thanks to the sheer number of trulli that it is home to. Trulli are best described as hobbit style houses with conical shaped roofs. They are typical of the Valle d’Itria region of Puglia but nowhere are they as prevalent as in Alberobello. Here visitors will find a staggering 1500 of them, giving the town UNESCO World Heritage status. The others are the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo, Castel del Monte and the Foresta Umbra Nature Reserve. Not surprisingly, this means that it does attract numerous visitors each day, many of which arrive in coaches at the start of each day. As a result, it’s well worth staying nearby so that you can explore before the crowds arrive and after they have left.
These villas in Alberobello are all within a 30 km radius of the town.
