Le Marche has some wonderful beaches along its Eastern coastline. The coastline stretches a massive 180 kilometres along the Adriatic giving holidaymakers plenty of choice when it comes to where to take that bucket and spade! In fact Le Marche proudly boasts the highest number of Blue Flag beaches of any region in Italy.
Some of the bigger, more well known resorts include Gabicce Mare, Pesaro, Senigallia and San Benedetto del Tronto. However, there are plenty of smaller resorts lying below the limestone peak of Monte Conero which are worth exploring too. These include Portonovo, Sirolo and Numana....
Le Marche is perfect cycling territory, with mountain bike trails in abundance! Certainly, it is an extremely popular sport across Italy, with men donning the lyrca most weekends!
However, for the holidaymaker, cycle hire can be difficult to find so if you are keen to enjoy a lot of cycling during your trip, you may be best to bring your own bike. It's not impossible to find cycle hire though.
The local tourist office will always be able to help recommend routes and itineries for you and will be able to advise you on the nearest bike rental business.

One of the most beautiful parts of the region is the Monti Sibillini. It's snow capped peaks offer superb walking and hiking territory. The Sibillini National Park plus many other tourist offices organise tours and treks throughout the Spring, Summer and Autumn months and have numerous pre-defined itineries available. Music festivals in the region tend to run across July and August with some running into September too. At Sarnano is Sassotetto, Le Marche's main ski resort. This is a medium sized ski resort boasting 9 pistes, 9 ski lifts (1 chair lift and 8 surface lifts) but with only 180 metres (590 feet) of vertical descent, it's probably best suited to intermediate skiers and snowboarders rather than advanced skiiers.
