For those who enjoy an adrenalin rush during their holidays, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy some extreme sports on Lake Como.
Visitors to the area shouldn’t miss the opportunity to take a seaplane flight. The Como Aero club offers full training courses to teach you how to fly a seaplane. You can even enjoy the opportunity to experience a test flight before enrolling. The club is the oldest seaplane operation in the world. As a result, you can rest assured that you’ll be in safe hands.
Como Lake Paragliding in the north of Lake Como is a great place to experience a different kind of flight and enjoy paragliding for the first time. The club specialises in tandem flights. These allow you to experience the exhilaration of free flying whilst having the reassurance that you are in the safe hands of an experienced pilot.
Visitors can also enjoy canyoning and rock climbing excursions on Lake Como. For those experienced climbers, the dramatic cliffs around Lake Como are perfect climbing territory. The majority of the rock climbing on offer is situated on the Eastern sides of the lake around Lecco. There is an enormous variety of rock climbing to be found here. With 65 different crags to choose from, there are 1000’s of routes at all grades. For those looking for an opportunity to climb on the Eastern side of the lake, there is a popular climbing ‘gym’ at Menaggio. To reach it, simply follow the main road leading out of town to the north (direction Colico). When you get to the entrance of a tunnel, take the pedestrian road on the outside of the tunnel where you will find the rock face.
