Inside, Villa Chio has been furnished with care and attention to detail. Neutral colours throughout create a calm and tranquil space, complimented by the natural materials used for many of the furnishings. Rooms are spacious and inviting.
On the ground floor, there is a large living area. Long sofa style seating is arranged along one wall close to a stunning original fireplace which provides warmth and character. This room leads through to a dining room with a large table and chairs seating up to 10 guests. It is the perfect setting to enjoy meals together in the cooler months of the year. Interesting artefacts are arranged in glass fronted cupboards and on sideboards. Please note that there is a double sofa bed in the living area allowing the house to sleep up to 8 guests in total.
Meals can be prepared in the kitchen which oozes quintessential Italian traditions combined with contemporary functionality. Exposed brick walls give it a rustic feel and the addition of a wooden table ensures plenty of area to prepare your meals. Of course, if you prefer to put your feet up and let someone else do the work, we can arrange the services of a private chef for you. Please ask for more details.
This Umbria villa also has three bedrooms arranged over the first floor of the building. The master bedroom is an elegant space decorated in a palette of cream and beige. Vintage design perfectly fuses with modern comfort. A comfortable king size bed will ensure a good night's sleep whilst a free standing bath positioned to one corner of the room allows guests to enjoy an indulgent soak in the tub. A separate ensuite bathroom has been crafted with natural stone finishes and has a large walk-in shower. The second bedroom is cosier but no less elegant whilst the third bedroom is equally warm and inviting. Both these bedrooms also have their own private bathrooms.
Outside, guests will discover a large garden bursting with character. A private waterfall cascades over the rocks. Naturally formed, it spills over the lush greenery into a natural pool. In fact, the constant sound of water flowing through small streams, ponds and fountains creates an almost mystical atmosphere.
There is also a large heated plunge pool for guests to enjoy, with counter-current swimming and hydro-massage jets. This has been perfectly positioned to make the most of the wonderful panorama and incredible sunsets. Breathtaking views over the Umbrian hills really do complete the picture. This is truly the most tranquil and idyllic space in which to relax and unwind.
Finally, carved into the rocks, there is a private wellness sanctuary for guests to enjoy. Relaxing beds sit under soft lighting, allowing you to unwind whilst breathing in the soft aroma. There is a sauna here, a hot tub and sensory shower.
To enhance your opportunity to relax, we would be delighted to organise the services of a private chef, masseuse, yoga or meditation teacher for you. We can also provide a private driver and grocery delivery service on request.
The house is set within a protected natural park. From the property, you can see the Hermitage of Santa Maria di Giacobbe, an attraction currently being considered for UNESCO World Heritage status. The house is also close to Pale, just 2 km from the village of Belfiore di Foligno, a few kilometres from Rasiglia, and not far from Sellano. This is the location of a Tibetan bridge said to be the longest and most scenic in Europe. It's also 8 km from Foligno, 16 km from the nearby town of Spello and within a short drive of Assisi.
